The Bitcoin Tour at Bitcoin 2023

Dear bitcoiners,

I have three updates for you. You may know me as the guy who rode a motorcycle across the USA in 2022 visiting Bitcoin meetups.

This year, I want to build on that Bitcoin Tour to help raise money for Bitcoin meetups.

(Psst: find your meetup’s code if you’re ready)

For my plan, read on below. If you missed the tour, here’s episode one of the Bitcoin Tour docuseries produced by Swan Bitcoin.

First, I’ll tell you how I’ll raise money using the saddlebags of my Harley Davidson – which hundreds of Bitcoiners from meetups around the country graced with their signatures.

Second, I’ll introduce you to a collection of goodies I built in collaboration with The Bitcoin Clothing Company.

And finally I’ll tell you how meetup participants can get a discount on those goodies while helping to raise funds for meetups.

The Bitcoin community showed me so much hospitality and warmth on my tour, I want to give something back to the meetups that made it all possible.

The Bitcoin Tour Saddlebags: A One-of-a-Kind Piece

Over 100 days and 11,500 miles of riding, the Bitcoin-orange saddlebags of my Harley Davidson visited the home turf of hundreds of Bitcoiners. Each Bitcoiner left their mark with a signature, making the bags a unique proof-of-work in the Bitcoin community.

Both saddlebags are up for auction at the Bitcoin 2023 Art Gallery.

And I will donate 21% of the sale price to Bitcoin meetups.

But that is only the start of what I want to reveal.

Notable signatures on the bags include: Cryptograffiti, Steve Barbour, Pierre Rochard, JP Sears, Saifedean Ammous, Matt Odell, Jimmy Song, Awayslice, Parker Lewis, Justine Harper, Pete Rizzo, Justin Moon, Brian Harrington, Texas Slim, Brekkie, Camila Campton, Brandon Quittem, Brady Swenson, Tomer Strolight, Yan Pritzker, Sam Callahan, Stephan Livera, Daniel Prince, CryptoCloaks, Rob, Econoalchemist, niftynei, Dennis Porter, BitcoinRothbard, Tommy (drew a Pepe too), MadeX, Neil B, and the organizers of all the 30+ local Bitcoin meetups I visited.

The Bitcoin Tour Collection

The Bitcoin Clothing Company and I worked together to create a series of designs for the Bitcoin Tour Collection. My favorite is a “Tour Shirt” design showing all the cities with a Bitcoin meetup visited on the 2022 Bitcoin Tour. But BEFORE you buy your own memento, read below how this supports local meetups (and gets you 10% off).

I also worked with The Bitcoin Clothing company to create unique discount codes for 120+ Bitcoin meetups running around the world. Meetup organizers, please share your code with your community.

When any meetup’s code is applied:

  1. You get 10% off all items in the Bitcoin Tour Collection
  2. 21% of the profits go towards meetups
  3. That specific meetup has a higher chance of winning some sats (more on this below)

Find your Meetup’s Code Here

Getting a Crack at Some Sats

Why did we need unique codes for all 120+ Bitcoin meetups?

Because every purchase using a meetup’s unique code earns that specific meetup more chances to win some sats.

The more items bought with your meetup’s code, the more likely your meetup is to win a significant part of the sats from the saddlebag auction and Collection sales.

Winnings will help meetups host larger events, find a bigger or more permanent space, or purchase shared Bitcoin tools for meetup attendees (like a Seedsigner!)

First prize will win 50% of the pot, second will win 25%, third 12.5%… in classic halving style. The halvings will stop when the last prize is less than 500,000 satoshis (about $100 at time of writing).

Any purchases made before 11:59pm US Pacific time on Monday, May 22nd count!

Put the winnings towards starting your own Bitcoin Park in your city.

I hope to see you at Bitcoin 2023! Ask me about the next Bitcoin Tour…

Best,

Sidd
